Description

Enjoy a half-day tour of the impressive city of Milan.

The tour starts with the most spectacular terrace of Milan, the Cathedral rooftop. The elevator will carry your directly to the top and you will walk around the spires and the statues that ornate the roof. There are more than 3.200 statue, will you be able to count them all? Don’t worry, your guide will be there to help you in the effort. 

Your visit continues with the Cathedral, here you will discover how the history of the city blends with the artistic and architectures movements that have made this church unique. Your guide will lead you through the history and the secrets of the paintings and the huge stained-glass windows that decorate the cathedral.

Finally, down in the crypts of the church, the burial please of great personalities of the history of Milan, here you will hear the anecdotes and the legends around this mystical place.

Exit the Duomo and walk inside Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping gallery, a 19th century glass vaulted shopping arcade. Brimming with fashionable shops and cafes, it used to be the connecting path between the Cathedral and the La Scala opera house, so the ladies could stay dry in their way to the theatre in case of rain.

At the end of the Galleria you arrive at Milan’s most famous Opera House: the fabulous La Scala theatre. Founded in 1778 and still in use, some of the world’s greatest musicians and opera singers have performed here including Pavarotti, Maria Callas and Giuseppe Verdi (no entrance).

Finally, take a look at the medieval Sforza Castle. An impressive medieval Castle and fortress, one of the most impressive urban castles in Europe. The Sforzesco was once residence for the ruling family of Milan and now hosts several of the city’s museums and art collections.
