Perché visitare Genoa
Genoa has ancient origins, it was already an important port when the Romans arrived in the area in the V centery BC, but it was during the Renaissance period that it reached the moment of greatest splendor when it became a Maritime Republic.
The historical center is characterized by the famous caruggi, narrow and irregular alleys where the typical shops and taverns of the city are found where you can taste the typical products of the place like the famous Genoese focaccia and the Ligurian pesto.
One of the most important areas of the city is the Porto Antico, redeveloped by Renzo Piano in 1992 which also houses the famous Aquarium of Genoa. It is the largest Italian aquarium and the first in Europe for animal species.
From Genoa in a short time it is possible to reach Portofino, a seaside village built around a bay, with high colored houses leaning against the famous piazzetta, a very famous international tourist destination.
