Lugano is an important city in southern Switzerland on the shores of the lake of the same name surrounded by beautiful alpine landscapes.
The city has an important pedestrian historic center with numerous buildings in Lombard style. Worthy of note is the famous Via Nassa, known as the shopping street, an icon of luxury and elegance; in the 270 meters of ancient arcades along the lake it is possible to find shops of various kinds, from jewelers to clothing, from gastronomy to antique shops.
The city center offers numerous places of interest such as the cathedral of San Lorenzo dating from the 11th century, the Convent of the Holy Trinity of the Minor Capuchin friars. Fulcrum of the historical center is the spacious and lively Piazza Riforma, also called "the living room of Lugano" for its countless cafés and bars.
Lugano has experienced an important development in the financial sector, it is considered the third financial center of Switzerland and a very important congress center.
