Monte Bianco and Courmayeur

Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe, is considered the eighth wonder of the world and Courmayeur is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Alps.

The Mont Blanc, known to be the highest peak in Europe with its 4,808 meters.
Perennially snow-capped, Mont Blanc rises at the center of a 40km long mountain range that originated in the Tertiary Era, is composed of granite, metamorphic rocks and sedimentary rocks, mainly quartz.
The Mont Blanc is one of the reliefs that hosts the greatest number of glaciers, 65 glaciers that extend over a total area of 165 km².
In 2015 the Skyway Monte Bianco was inaugurated, a cable car that now includes 3 stations: Courmayeur / The Valley (1,300 m), Pavillon / The Mountain (2,173 m) and Punta Helbronner / The Sky (3,466 m).
Courmayeur was one of the first towns in the Alps to have had a tourist development, based, even before the advent of mountaineering, on its many thermal springs.
Located at the foot of the Mont Blanc massif, it is the oldest alpine station in the Aosta Valley
